Walk With Me: An Opportunity to Change the World

“There is no distinction between the one who gives, the one who receives, and the gift itself.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

A wonderful saying by Thich Nhat Hanh, and a more than wonderful introduction for “Walk With Me”, a moving and captivating film that depicts the essence, the depth and the profoundness of Thich Nht Hanh’s poetry. А true gift for the whole humanity and a documentary film that we whole-heartedly recommend you to watch out until the last minute.

We live in a world filled with uncertainty, fear and rising divisiveness, as if it was almost an apartheid. Strange enough, historians record that this is the least violent of times in human civilization history, yet we all feel overwhelmed by the headlines. Maybe, just maybe we have become less physically violent as humans, but the way we manage to torture mentally is beyond any measure.

“Walk With Me”, directed by Max Pugh and Marc J. Francis of Speakit Films, projects a rather different image of humanity, one where peace is possible. The film is narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Benedict Cumberbatch, and his words guide us into the motion picture journey of a unique monastic community who fully seems to embrace the art of mindfulness, along with Thich Nhat Hanh. The movie was filmed over the course of three years. It is an attempt to depict the life of an authentic meditation community who have utterly disregarded all other professions in life but one: to fully embrace a mindful moastic life in a rural area of France.

When mass media increasingly waters seeds of turmoil, intoleralnce, and uncertainty, watching “Walk With Me” might actually be the best idea, as it re-establishes balance for everyone, affirming that life of peace and mindfulness is possible. This film, as endorsed to be, is a piece of mindful media that can water positive messages in our society.
