Spirituality means the search for a significant relationship with something greater than yourself that can lead to favorable feelings, including peace, happiness, acceptance, thankfulness, and awe.  You can know that spirituality is a broad topic for it has many connotations that are varying with different perspectives or views.  It usually involves a search for meaning in life and it generally involves a feeling of association with something greater than us.

People can define it as sacred or divine, or just as being deeply connected. Some may discover their spiritual lives are interconnected with a religious concept, such as going to some religious structure. Others seek meaning by their links to nature or art. Others can pray or experience consolation in a private connection with a greater authority or God.  Throughout your life, your individual concept of spirituality will alter and adjust based on the interactions and personal experiences. But how can we really connect with ourselves spiritually so we can have a better sense of ourselves? Let’s find out with these seven easy ways to connect spiritually with yourself:

1. Allot time for you to spend alone.

It is perfectly good to spend some time alone. You get the inner sense of yourself of who you are without any external factors. You’ll know your strengths and weaknesses as an individual and as you do it frequently, you learn how to cope with your shortcomings and use your strengths efficiently.

2. Do some exercise, keep your body in shape.

You don’t need to imitate those body builders or celebrities that have pretty buff bodies. All you need is to make sure you do yourself a favor by doing enough exercise for a healthier you. A healthier body comes with an openness of ourselves to connect spiritually which makes it easier for us to do so.

3. Give yourself a touch of nature.

Go out and spend time with nature. One good thing about this is its actually free and no real need to schedule a time for it, just make sure you do it before the day ends. Nothing beats the feeling of natural wind that touches your skin as well as seeing nature in its raw form. It lifts your spirit levels that lets you connect with yourself spiritually for being able to breathe free and reminds that you are living your life in the present

4. Make yourself one of your friends.

A kind of friendship that will surely last a lifetime. Aspire to be the greatest friend for yourself. That way, you can stand alone even if the world didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to be. Don’t beat yourself up, be kind to yourself, forgive yourself, and love yourself.

5. Take your gut feeling into account.

By taking your gut feeling into account when choosing between things, you are allowing your spiritual subconscious to be heard. This spiritual subconscious is what you are deep inside and by assessing it, you can choose for your own by who you really are.

6. Don’t title yourself with negative spectrum of life.

Do not title yourself as someone who is tired, has illness, or suffers in life. Instead, label yourself with something you can find positive inside you which I’m sure you will find because no one exists as a purely negative entity. By doing this, you will be able to grow and shine brighter than before.

7. Make yourself yours, your decisions yours.

All of the things we do boils down to making a decision beforehand. What differs it from one another is how you’ve reached that decision – was it decided by others that you have just imitated or was it truly decided by you? Make your decisions yours, not saying that other opinions are irrelevant but always look at your spiritual level if you truly desire the things you’ve planned to do.
