6. Makes fears less threatening to confront
Anyone can agree that the most uncomfortable things to confront are fears, especially those rooted in insecurities, anxiety, and self-doubt. But meditation gradually reduces your discomfort and helps you come to accept fear and negativity. When you meditate, thoughts come and go through your mind, including the negative ones. While they may initially be overwhelming to face, you will come to the realization that thoughts and emotions can never hurt you – the only things that will hurt you are your own actions due to those elements, and guilt or bitterness should never erode at your heart.
What’s more, meditation also treats pain without causing addiction, so you never have to worry about seeking alternative solutions to cope with mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety. Once you overcome emotional obstacles, you inevitably enforce a sense of emotional resilience without yourself which will unquestionably help you face challenges in the future with courage.
